But ever since last
year, brands have cottoned to making "nude" mean something other than
a colour that matches white skin, with Estee Lauder, Butter London and Revlon
ALL creating nude nail shades that tried to cater to different skin tones.
Tights brand Falke also brought out multi-tonal nude tights in their Perfect
Skin Colour collection, with shades matching a range of skin tones from pale to
dark.
Now Christian Louboutin
has got in on the act with its enudes collection, comprising of iconic shoes
styles in five shades, which aim to "re-imagine the perception of the
colour as a pale blush, and introducing it as the colour of flesh".
In a spectrum that
ranges from "fair blush" to "rich chestnut", the new
colours cover styles including the Batignolles, the Fifi pump, Vendome and Flo
peep-toe, and according to Mr Louboutin himself, promise to "give the
woman an extra lift, but not to take attention away from the legs and what she
is wearing"
To celebrate the launch
of the shoes (which are available worldwide), Louboutin are also creating a
"Louboutin Shades" App which allows users to take a photo of their
foot and find a shade to match their skin tone.
