Jennifer Hudson "I've never Never Had an Alcoholic Drink."

Well, one thing's for sure: You won't see a drunk Jennifer Hudson embarrassing herself in front of the cameras anytime soon. Or ever. Why? The actress has never had a drink in her life.

Hudson shared the news with noted vodka lover Chelsea Handler on her show last night, sending the talk show host into complete shock. They were talking about Hudson's new role as a heroin addict in The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete when Handler teased "I love this new movie. It's great because you play a heroin addict, which is the only drug I've never tried. You've never done heroin?"

Hudson responded: "I've never done anything, so that was hard to play this role. I've never had a drink in my life. I'm sober. I'm like, 'Okay, this is new to me.' Normally as an actor, you have things to pull from. I was like, 'I don't know what it's like to feel any of that.' Handler couldn't believe it. "What do you mean you've never had a drink?" she asked with her jaw on the ground. "What are you waiting for?"

"I don't know. I've never been interested. Nobody ever believes it," Hudson said. "When I got this role, I was like, 'Oh my god, what am I gonna do? What am I gonna pull from to play the role?'"

To prepare for the part, the actress sat down with ex-addicts at a rehab center. "They took me through each and every step of what it's like, how you get addicted to drugs and what it feels like when you are high," she explained. "She told me it was like an orgasm. I was like, 'I could do that part! I could fake that!'"

The takeway: Definitely don't buy Jennifer Hudson a bottle of champagne for her birthday.
