Now in October and 2months to the end of 2013; heart skiping, a lot on my table and yet time wouldn't just agree to be my friend. All my quick fixes and scheme has not worked. Many things to contend with and yet 2013 is fast running out. *Sad face*
Strategic Planning by Chris Moore |
I always laugh when people comment that I seem to be very productive. I have huge spaces of bumbling around, head scratching and confusion, just like the rest of the world. But I have been getting much more focused and effective as the years have gone by. And this is by very conscious design.
This year, I was able to run a profitable business, start a blog and lot more. Thanks to those who have been helpful. What is the key to getting things done and enjoying your life? The four things that have made a big difference for me this year are the following:
•Identify Your Strengths
You have multiple interests and talents, but you can do only a handful of things exceptionally well. Zero in on the work that will leverage your strengths, and you are much more likely to do great work.
•Focus Your Goals
I learnt after much struggle, that it is extremely difficult to do more than three major initiatives in a year. If you want to get big goals accomplished, you have to be ruthless about your priorities. I learnt best to stop launching so many small programs and instead focus on developing a longer and more profitable program.
THE SYSTEM OF DISCIPLINE
- Have goals and direction in life and paste them where you can always see them. Where there is no goal, the people lack discipline. Create a lifetime goal of all you want to accomplish in life.
- Specify what you has been called to accomplish and from this, pull out your long-term goals, short-time goals, annual goals, and daily goal. Paste them in places you will always see them. The goals must have deadlines. Set time limits in all you do. When you set a goal, specify it and zero in on it. Research your field.
- Immediately you achieve any goal, download the next level of goals. Don't plan life to be lived anytime without goals.
- Have a daily schedule and habits that you do everyday. You must have daily routines. Begin by setting a 7-day goal, move it to 30 days then 90 days, and eventually 1 year; by then, you will have mastered the habit and system of discipline. Anything can look hard because it has not been broken down.
- Surround Yourself with a Great Team. I have worked hard to build a network of exceptionally smart mentors. I rely on them for creative input, decision making and support. I have also built a team around my business that allows me to do my best work. Adding the right people to your team is a key part of growth.
